1. What is Youth United for Change?

  • YUC is an organization dedicated to developing young leaders in Philadelphia and empowering them to improve the quality of their education and their communities to better meet their needs.
  • We do this through a process of institution-based, community organizing. Meaning a diverse group of students come together to identify common concerns in their school or community and take collective action to address their concerns.

2. How many Chapters are in YUC?

  • 5 (Mastbaum, Edison, Kensington, Olney, City Wide, and a PushOut Youth Chapter)

3. How much does it cost to be in YUC?

  • Nothing!!!

 4. When and where do we meet?

  • After school, at least once a week at the YUC office or at a room set aside in your school.

5. How do we get to the YUC Office?

  • YUC will give you tokens to reach the office and go home

6. What do I get out of being in YUC?

  • Skills to change things in your school and community
  • Travel around the city and sometimes the country talking about what you learned at YUC
  • Field trips!!
  • Parties!!
  • Free Snacks & Refreshments
